Harindra B Dassanayake studied holds Bachelors of Art at University of Kelaniya, where he studied French, German and Translation Methods. He has obtained Masters Degrees in Philosophy (Kelaniya), and Development Studies (OUSL). He also has studied European Integration, and Cultural Studies at Bauhaus University, Germany. He has served as the Director of Technical Terms at the Department of Official Languages, and presently holds the position of Director – Research and International Media at the President's Office of Sri Lanka. He has been a co-editor of the Patitha journal of cultural studies, published by Colombo Institute of Advanced Study of Society and Culture. Harindra has worked as a translator and has been a visiting lecturer in literature and cultural theory in several universities.
